No wonder insurance body not happy. It is well known fact that insurance agents are more hardworking --- they show up once a year to flog their latest wholelife, endowment and ILP.

They should change the constitution to force GE every year too. Like that, all will be more hardworking, both incumbent and oppo. Ang baos every year too.

That is what Grace Fu is saying about the opp being like insurance agents who only come or review when it is year end when people have bonus to buy wholelife or endowment.
The door to door insurance agents are the magic stone conmen unlike the koyok insurance salesmen at Waterloo Street who are always doing roadshow to con passers by..These koyok salesmen work on numbers so they choose a high traffic spot to peddle the koyok...sure got victims who will fall for the cure everything whole life or endowment koyok.

Chan Chun Seng is correct to say don't waste money on wrong insurance and that is what insurance agents have been selling to consumers . Is it a wonder always LIA reported a growth in sale but low sum assured? Low because of wrong insurance.

IFPAS is a salesman association where product pushing is the practice.
When the president said about black sheep he didn't know the black sheep make up almost the whole association membership. How did Grace Fu have this impression of insurance agents. She must have got it from anecdotal evidence. It is well known, so stereotyping the insurance agents as hit and run salesmen who come to you with only intention to sell is not wrong. Ask anyone about insurance agents.Spitting is the first reaction and followed by expletives.
What profession is insurance pushing? You can put it beside the oldest profession in the world, prostitution. Aren't the insurance agents prostituting at the roadsides, the malls, running after the passers by for favours?

The pretty things at Geylang stand along the roadside soliciting for sale but unlike the insurance agents run after and harass their prospects without the shame.
I think these insurance agents can do a roaring and quickie business at Geylang

Now the $5million fake policy has come up for hearing . I wonder how many more people will be involved.
Sometimes, MAS should be blamed for this for not enforcing the FAA. They are shits.

This is the tip of the iceburg of the industry. So long MAS doesn't tighten and remove commission it will continue. Do you think that this is the only one? Wait till you hear of another one that will also come up soon.
And there are hundred of thousand of smaller ones that have gone unnoticed. This is the result of product pushing and commission driven model.
