From 2 June to 11 June 2008, I conducted a poll on my website asking the following question:

If I would to conduct a free investment seminar, what kind of topics would you like to hear? 

The following was the outcome:

54.8% said they want to hear “Dummy’s Guide to Investing using Portfolio Approach”         

29% said “What funds should I invest right now?” 

16.1% said “Neither of the above” 

Total voters: 62

The statistic could show a few things:

(1)  Either many people are keen to use portfolio approach in investing or

(2)  They never heard of portfolio approach before and hence they want to hear about it.

I think the number (2) is the likely possibility. I have often asked clients to invest using portfolio approach but many do not believe in me and they went to buy products from others. I lost countless cases because of this.
