I was looking at the names of those petitioning the government to do something about the losses incurred investing in the Lehman Minibonds, DBS High Notes, Morgan Stanley Pinnacle Notes and Merrill Lynch Jubilee Notes at this website HERE. I was shocked to find a number of my own friends invested in these products. I hope they did not invest too much in these products. For those who know me as colleagues in previous companies, NUS friends classmates , VCF , NSF days, JC and Secondary school and Primary (not likely I can remember Primary school classmates though), I hope they would take some time to see me to review their other investments. I cannot do anything about existing investments that have become zero. But at least I could give a second opinion of the other investments. Normally I charge this as a fee for writing the report. For friendship sake, I will not charge for this purpose but will instead give verbal advice on their existing portfolios [No written report as this takes too much time]. What I'll require are the Prospectus and all marketing materials given. Sometime there is no prospectus but a Term Sheet. The Term Sheet is sufficient in most cases. This goodwill offer is only for friends and ex-colleagues only. I really hope to be able to help them before it is too late.
