I am pretty disappointed with the Sunday Times' article on the evaluation of the 4 portfolio challenge. No, I am not disappointed with the returns of the portfolio but rather the nature of the article is not educational and potentially misleading. Here are the reasons why:
There was no mention about the investor's risk appetite. There was no mention about the investor's time horizon. There was no mention about the investor's ability to take risk
I had feedback from friends that they were disappointed that even the professionals "cannot do it". When I heard that, I find that the article really did a big disfavor to everybody.
Still, the fact that the 4 companies and individuals took up the "challenge" showed that they are indeed immature people. Now, who will really dare to listen to their views if they are immature people?
