Some of my clients asked me what will happen to their medishield if they would to buy a Medisave-approved Integrated Shield Plan (e.g. Aviva's Myshield, NTUC Income's Enhanced Incomeshield, etc). Also what happens if they would to terminate the private shield plan. Would the Medishield be terminated? The answer is quite easy. Just ask google.com and the answer comes up as follows (reference: CPF)

Q:   I am currently covered under MediShield. What will happen to my MediShield cover when I buy a Medisave-approved Integrated Shield Plan? Can I subsequently downgrade to Medishield again?

A:If you are currently insured under MediShield and buy a Medisave-approved Integrated Shield Plan, your MediShield cover will continue. This means that your MediShield cover will not be subject to any additional exclusion which may be imposed by the private insurer on your enhancement plan. You may downgrade to MediShield again at anytime. Your MediShield cover will not be subject to further underwriting
