I might as well just do more comparison least someone says I am promoting NTUC Income. OK, I will just post the reduction in yield for another insurer – TM Asia Life. For TM Legacy with Dreaded Disease Accelerator Rider of sum assured $200,000 for a male last age 0 the premium is $2,914 over 10 years. The coverage is for life. The surrender value at the end of 60th policy year is $159,836 and $251,915 for 3.75% and 5.25% projection respectively. Thus the surrender value represents an internal rate of return (IRR) of 3.11%% and 3.95% respectively. The reduction in yield (which is the difference between the projected rate of return and the IRR) is 0.64%% and 1.30% respectively.
