Today our family visited my father-in-law's niche at All Saints church. This month is his 5th year death anniversary. He had died of leukemia. After which it has become our tradition to “congregate” at a relative's house to have a meal and fellowship. At the All Saints church I noticed that there was a niche just opposite my father-in-law which obviously was a new one. It was new because there was no engraved words and picture but instead was an obituary cut out from the Straits Times. It was a 42 year old man who died in December 2008. Again, to think about it it is apparent that death has nothing to do with age as it seems everyone regardless of age is subjected to life's one and only guarantee called death. Anyway out of curiously and I just check NTUC Income's December 2008 life insurance claim statistics which can be see here http://income.com.sg/claims/life/summary/2008/december.asp. In that month, the youngest death claim exceeding $100,000 sum assured was a 26 year old male sales coordinator who committed suicide. For living claim, the youngest claim was a 29 year old male senior executive who had a stroke. For the month of November, the youngest death claim exceeding $100,000 sum assured was a 42 year old unemployment male who committed suicide. For living claim, it was a 9 year old boy who needed a major organ transplant. For month October 2008, the youngest death claim exceeding $100,000 was a 33 year old male computer support who died of cancer. For living claim it was a 2 year old boy due to cancer as well.
