I thanked Straits Times' journalist, Leong Chan Tiek for featuring investment forums on Straits Times' front page, "Upfront Column". In fact I feel honoured to have my name mentioned in the opening paragraph.

He highlighted an emerging trend on the Internet scene in which people sort after investment advice and information through the information highway.

For those who had visited http://www.sgfunds.com, I would like to point out a few of my views:

1. Do not assume all advice or information is correct in such investment forums

2. Never assume that the individuals are truely "expert" unless you have a way of verifying that.

3. Always seek the advice from a MAS licensed financial adviser, preferably one which is "Independent". An IFA is regulated by the government, at least you know you are protected from legal standpoint.
